Meet Jay Kacik and Standing Room Only DJ! He has been a professional disc jockey for more than 20 years. He began his career in radio and found that he truly enjoyed working with couples so he made weddings his sole focus.
He has a very wonderful tip for newly engaged couples:
Do lots of research on your vendors. Read reviews, ask your venue who they refer and why. If you book very good vendors, you will enjoy your wedding day much more!

What is Jay’s personal favorite wedding memory?
From a wedding this past summer: A couple met as dance partners at Texas A&M on a demonstration country dance team. Through that, they traveled the world, dancing for international dignitaries. They love country dancing. The wedding was great. Everyone danced, country, oldies, currents… In our planning meetings, the bride and groom told me that at the end of the night they would like one last dance alone. We had a grand exit. Everyone left. The groom sneaked back in and went to the far end of the dance floor. After a few last goodbyes, the bride came back in the room. As she walked toward the dance floor, the groom nodded to me. I started the song and walked out of the room. There was no one in the room except them. The moment was perfect. I couldn’t help peeking a little. They were in that place we all try and be, in the moment and present.
They danced.
I cried.
A lot.
